SUMMARY:Basin Street Regulars Presents Midiri Brothers and Barrelhouse Wailers
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nThe HOTTEST Jazz Club on the Central Coast,\nThe Basin Street Regulars presents…….\nMidiri Brothers and Barrelhouse Wailers\nSATURDAY afternoon Concert from\n12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday July 20, 2024\n– No Jam Session –\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe have two truly outstanding events coming up for you in July.  The incredible Midiri Brothers are making the trip to California to perform at a venue in Palos Verdes and they contacted us to see if we would like to host them in Pismo Beach first. Of course, we said yes!\nDue to the date of their performance in Southern California, we are switching from our usual Sunday session date and will welcome them on Saturday, July 20th.  The schedule for that day will be a little bit different; we will start at noon and end at 5:00 p.m.  There will not be a jam session.\nIn addition to the July 20th show at the Vet’s Hall, we will also be hosting a meet and greet BBQ with the Midiris on Friday, July 19th from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Cardinal house. This will give you a unique opportunity to break bread with the Midiris in a casual setting and also see them perform in the gazebo.  Suggested donations for this event will be $25, which includes an expertly prepared tri-tip BBQ meal, beer, wine and tableware.  Please RSVP to Shonda Croly at: Shamrockshonda59@gmail.com or put your name on the list at the June Sunday sessions.  Money will not be collected in advance.  Donations (cash and checks) will be accepted at the door. Checks should be made out to the Basin Street Regulars.  Any money collected over expenses will be donated to BSR.\nThese will be your only opportunities to see the Midiri’s on the Central Coast. We will not be bringing them here in October.\nThe quartet that is coming from back east includes Joe Midiri on clarinet and Paul Midiri on vibes and trombone, Jack Hegyi on bass and Pat Mercuri on guitar.  Their drummer is not joining them in Pismo, so we have recruited local favorite, Jim Stromberg to perform with them Saturday at the Vet’s Hall.  See more information about these fantastic musicians later in this article.\nNot only will the Midiris be performing that day, but we will be opening with the Barrelhouse Wailers.  This fantastic band from Ventura has played for us many times and features a collection of talented and eclectic musicians\nThis is a double-header show with two amazing bands!\nThe Barrelhouse Wailers are an 8-piece powerhouse collective from Ventura, California that seamlessly blend traditional style hot jazz and vintage blues with original compositions to create a sound that’s as timeless as it is electrifying. With their roots deeply embedded in the rich soil of American musical traditions, this dynamic ensemble has been captivating audiences since 2013 with their high-energy performances and masterful musicianship.\nDriven by their passion for authenticity and innovation, The Barrelhouse Wailers deliver a sonic experience that pays homage to the classics while pushing the boundaries of contemporary music. Their infectious energy and tight-knit chemistry on stage promise an evening of entertainment that will have you on your feet and moving to the rhythm.\nPricing for the entire show will be $10 each for Silver Members, $20 each for regular members, and $30 each for non-members. Only 280 tickets will be available.\nThese are fantastic prices to see these two bands, made possible by generous donations from our members.\n\n\n
