DESCRIPTION:The San Luis Obispo International Film Festival in partnership with the Central Coast Film Society is excited to announce their newest weekend-long film competition, The Reel Challenge. Inspired by the current creativity being exhibited across todays social media platforms we want to dive into this creative process and give filmmakers, creators, students and anyone interested in the medium a chance to be a part of a popular international film festival.\nAre you a filmmaker, actor, editor, or avid social media-er looking to practice your craft for a chance to screen in an International Film Festival? In this fast paced and adrenaline filled competition, you have just 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and submit a short film. No cheating! Just minutes before the competition clock begins ticking we’ll reveal the prop that must be written and showcased in your film.\nEligibility:\nAll creatives residing on the Central Coast of California – Monterey County, San Luis Obispo County or Santa Barbara County. All ages, group/crew sizes and experience levels welcome.\nRegistration:\nYou must register for The Reel Challenge by 4:00pm PST on Friday, November 19. For registration, please visit https://slofilmfest.org/the-reel-challenge-48-hour-competition/ ( https://slofilmfest.org/the-reel-challenge-48-hour-competition/ )!\nOfficial Filmmaking Period:\nAfter registering for the competition, you will receive a kickoff email on Friday, November 19th at 5:00pm PST with the prop requirement that must be written into your film in some capacity. Once the email is received you will have until Sunday, November 21st at 5:00pm PST to write, shoot, edit, and submit your film for consideration.\nRequirements:\n+ Film must be 90 seconds or less\n+ Film must include the required prop (revealed at the start of the weekend) in some capacity + Film must be submitted no later than 5:00pm on Sunday, November 21\nWinners:\nOnce all submissions are in, a group of judges will review each of the films submitted and select winners for the competition. Winners will be invited and have their films screened at the 2022 SLO Film Festival!\n
