Meet Kai Shave Ice, a locally owned spot bringing tropical flavors and island vibes to the Central Coast! 🌊

The idea started with co-owners Hector De La Fuente, Alejandro Flores, and Marco Lucatero, who bonded over their love of visiting shave ice shops on family trips to Hawaii. After months of planning and perfecting their recipes, Kai opened its doors for a soft opening on June 18, 2026! 💛

🦎🐢🦜 Have you checked out BK’s Reptiles & Zoo in Grover Beach yet? 🐍🐸

If you’re looking for something a little different to do on the Central Coast, this locally owned, family-run spot is home to reptiles, amphibians, insects and lorikeets, with plenty of opportunities to get up close and interactive with the animals!

BK’s Reptiles & Zoo opened its doors in Grover Beach in May 2026, but owner Andrew Barton’s love of reptiles goes back much further. 🦎 Andrew fell in love with reptiles when he was about 5 years old, growing up in Louisiana and catching turtles, frogs, snakes and fish. 🐢 After years of planning and dreaming about opening his own zoo, BK’s Reptiles & Zoo finally became a reality right here on the Central Coast! Today, the zoo is home to 50+ reptiles, amphibians, insects and lorikeets. 🐊🐍🦜

🎟️ WHAT CAN YOU DO THERE?
This isn’t just a walk-through zoo. There are several hands-on experiences available:

🐢 Turtle Feeding
Feed live worms to the turtles in the pond! This experience is $5 and is suitable for all ages.

20 minutes from downtown Cambria, Stepladder Creamery is a family-owned ranch where most cheeses are handcrafted using milk from the goats that call the ranch home. What started as a small passion project has grown into one of the Central Coast’s most unique tasting experiences, combining award-winning artisan cheeses, beautiful scenery, and plenty of friendly goats ready to steal your heart. 🐐💚

Whether you’re a serious cheese lover or just looking for a memorable stop along Highway 1, this is one place you won’t forget!

✨ **Tips for your visit:**
🐐 Reserve your tasting in advance since spots often fill up.
🧀 Come hungry! The cheese tasting is absolutely worth it.
🌿 Wear comfortable shoes because you’ll be walking around the farm.
